During my time at Lexor, the team wanted to create packaging for a new product launch that went beyond the typical brown box packaging that defined the industry at the time. The products involved a sanitary plastic liner that nail techs could place around the basin of the pedicure spa as well as a magnetic cap to place over the liner and create the jet stream inside the basin. The original product featured a green cap that defined the entire brand and product it needed to look attractive enough to be used as display within nail salons. The launch also came with some marketing materials for the nail salons to promote the idea of a clean and sanitary experience for each customer.
Design
A big focus on green as part of the overall brand aesthetic and to drive home the oversimplified messaging attached to the product – “For clean, choose green.” Both the jet box and the sanitary liner box carried the same aesthetic in order to reinforce the connection between the two as a system that worked together. Future versions of the jet product came with a more neutral, off-white colored cap and so the top and front of the box would hold the image of the cap to help avoid confusion for fulfillment staff.
